After meeting and getting the opportunity to get to know Author Jackie Collins, i was asked to spend an afternoon with her in her home, where i was afforded the chance to do her portraits.  Jackie is such a great subject, and added to the experience with her beauty and charm.  She’s recent released a new book titled Married Lovers which is a great read and i highly recommend!  She’s also re-released a couple of her top sellers, one of which is Chances, where you will find one of the portraits from this most recent photo session.  Run out to your local bookstore and pick one up!  Congratulations Jackie on your recent tour of Married Lovers!

As I labor to log 100 non-union days to reach the golden ticket goal of getting into the Local 600 which is the Cinematographers union (they handle the still guys like me as well), I get to enjoy a grass roots level of film making. People who still believe in the dream, and pay out of their pocket for every opportunity they can to put film “in the can.”

One such case, i was afforded to work with Director Sven Kamm, as they embark on a journey of documenting, real Chinese Shaolin Monks from a monestary in the Henan Province , as they train, live, show, and enjoy something close to our hearts… Los Angeles. Our Production Manager Stacy Ballard, made our lives easy and made sure we ate right, so thank you Stacy, and a big thanks to Executive producer Liivy Webb, of Goldenhead LLC

“the Oscar for the best foreign language film went to the Austrian-German co-production “The Counterfeiters” (Die Fälscher), a film co-funded by the EU’s MEDIA programme and directed by Stefan Ruzowitzky from Austria. This is the third time in a row that European cinema is successful in Hollywood.”

The Mayor enjoys a little bit of fun! With the opening of Hart Village, by the Los Angeles Community Design Center (LACDC), a low income housing community, that gives high architectural design and living to those that are deserving, but maybe not be able to afford such a wonderful place.

Mayor Villaraigosa, enjoys a quick slide to break in the playground of this gem in the heart of Hart Village!

Shooting the Portraits of Academy Award Winners Arnold and Ann Kopelson, brought new challenges in capturing the Creative Personalities of two of the most accomplished producers in Hollywood. With over 32 major motion pictures to their credit, including the Devil’s Advocate, the Fugutive, and their 1978 Platoon, which garnered them the Oscar for Best Picture, Arnold and Ann allowed us in the back reaches of their private theater to catch them in their projector room!
